Front Porch `Aha

Front Porch 'Aha aha (s)
Real-time living
where we 'make do.'

'Aha
(Hawaiian language)
1. meeting, gathering
2. sennit cord braided of coconut
3. to stretch the 'aha cord for the outline of the house so the posts may be properly placed

aha
(English language)
-- an interjection used when something is suddenly seen, found, or understood

We're cooking up a Summer and Fall Series of gathering to be staged right off of Vardo for Two's front porch. In the spirit of home-made ceremony, weaving language and cultures and The Safety Pin-style common magic we have consulted the Moon (using Kaulana Mahina the Hawaiian Moon Calendar), asked permission, and will hitch-up our golden wagon and show up for two

FRONT PORCH 'Aha, 2017

We gathered friends who have shared their lives and grown community with us here on Whidbey Island. We had thanks to extend to them, and a vision we saw as our future. We hoped it was time to move back to Hawaii.
The details and the timing are a morphing creature; a reflection of our lives with Environmental Illness. There's no outrunning  Environmental Illness, and the only way through is by befriending time or redefining it.

These Front Porch 'Aha are an important part of our plan to modernize our approach to collaboration, give thanks to the community we have grown on on Whidbey Island and ask for help as we clarify our needs and our values at this point in our lives.

  1. The first Front Porch `Aha on the land at South Whidbey Tilth was a wonderful event. I posted an article about it here: http://vardofortwo2.blogspot.com/2017/07/we-are-where-we-should-be-front-porch.html
