Kilo from the Prairie Front

We moved from the woods of Langley onto the Prairie Front(the South Whidbey Tilth) along Highway 525 on Halloween, October 31, 2017.

"We built our Vardo for Two to be part of an envisioned community where our way of life and our disabilities and sensitivities become understood and embraced; by befriending time, we have found how long it takes to give-and-take and create understanding and shared resources. Like becoming family, our experiences as nest-dwellers shapes us even as we age." This intention continues to be at the root of our journey as we begin life on the Prairie Front; we are committed to this goal of being in service to the land; being a voice for the habitants who live here and have lived here before we people arrived; and also respectfully welcoming and sharing resources with the community of people who visit, contribute their time to land stewardship, work a pea patch garden, walk themselves and their dogs, join friends for gatherings.

As we do this we are keeping a journal/blog of our Hawaiian-based observation practice called "Kilo". That blog and this one are two stories of the same experience told with slightly different angles. Please read and comment on both these blogs as we navigate this every changing journey to Elsewhere. We mahalo the community of the South Whidbey Tilth for their faith in us as full-time residents and first time caretakers on this beautiful island land! We are here now, this winter camp for the golden wagon and her people. We are honored, humbled and excited to be here.
